Terms of Service

DumpShare connects people who have unused space in a dumpster with people who need to get rid of something. These terms are the agreement between you and DumpShare. Please read them — they explain who is responsible for what, and the parts about prohibited waste and liability matter to you.

What DumpShare is

DumpShare is a marketplace. Hosts list space they have already paid for in a container they rent or own. Discarders book some of that space by the cubic yard and drop off their own waste.

DumpShare is not a waste hauler, a disposal company, or a party to the drop-off itself. We do not own, rent, transport, or empty any container. We do not take custody of anything you throw away.

Who can use it

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. You must give accurate account information and keep your password to yourself. What happens under your account is your responsibility.

One person, one account. Do not use the app for anyone who has been suspended from it.

If you host space

You confirm that the container is yours to share: that you rent or own it, and that sharing it does not break your rental agreement, your lease, your HOA rules, or local law. Some haulers forbid it. Check before you list.

List honestly. The free space, the address, the hours and the photo should match what is actually there. Buyers commit money on the strength of that photo.

You choose which kinds of waste you accept, and you can decline any request for any lawful reason. Once you approve one, let the person drop off within the hours you published.

You stay responsible for the container and for what it costs you — including any overweight or contamination charge your hauler passes on. If a discarder causes that charge, tell us through Support and we will help you sort it out with them.

If you drop off waste

Bring what you described, and no more than the volume you paid for. The estimate the app gives you is an estimate — if your load turns out bigger, book the extra space rather than overfilling.

Show up inside the published hours, put the waste in the container, and leave the site as you found it. Nothing on the ground, nothing blocking a driveway, nothing above the rim.

You are responsible for what you bring, all the way through. Dumping something prohibited does not stop being your problem once it is in someone else's bin.

What must never go in

Hazardous waste · Chemicals · Paint · Solvents · Oil · Fuel · Asbestos · Batteries · Tires · Propane tanks · Refrigerants · Medical or biological waste · Ammunition or explosives — and anything else the law or the hauler prohibits.

This list applies to every container on DumpShare. A host cannot switch it off, and it is not part of what they choose to accept: their list covers ordinary waste only. Bringing anything above anyway is a breach of these terms, and you carry any fine, clean-up cost or legal consequence that follows.

If you are unsure what something counts as, ask through Support before you load it.

Prices and payment

Space is priced per cubic yard at the rate shown before you book. The total you see is the total you pay. Payment is handled by our payment processor; DumpShare never stores your full card number.

You are charged when a host approves your request, not when you send it. If no host approves, you are not charged.

Cancel before approval and nothing is charged. After approval, cancellation and refund depend on how far along the drop-off is — the app tells you where you stand before you confirm.

DumpShare may take a service fee out of the amount paid. Any fee is shown before you commit.

Photos and what you post

Photos are how this works: a host photographs the bin, a discarder photographs the load, and each side sees the other's before agreeing. By uploading, you give DumpShare permission to store that photo, show it to the other party in the deal, and use it to estimate volume.

Only photograph what you are entitled to photograph. Do not include people, documents, licence plates, or anything you would not want the other party to see.

We can remove content that breaks these terms.

Measurements are estimates

The app estimates volume from photographs. It is a guide, not a measurement instrument, and it will sometimes be wrong. Both sides should look at the photos and use judgement. Neither side may rely on the number alone.

Deals are between you and the other person

DumpShare introduces the two of you and handles the payment. The drop-off itself is your arrangement. We do not supervise it, we are not present for it, and we do not guarantee that either side will do what they promised.

We do not run background checks on hosts or discarders.

Liability

The app is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that a match will be found.

To the fullest extent the law allows, DumpShare is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid through the app in the three months before the claim arose.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Suspension

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, misrepresents a listing, brings prohibited waste, or puts other users at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.

Disputes and governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Ohio, and the courts of Ohio have jurisdiction.

Start with Support. Most disputes between a host and a discarder are settled fastest with us in the middle.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will say so in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use DumpShare after that means you accept the new version.
