Privacy Policy
This explains what DumpShare collects, why, and who else sees it. The short version: we collect what a drop-off needs and nothing more, we show the other party in a deal only what they need to agree to it, and we do not sell your data.
What we collect
Account: your email address, a password (stored only as a cryptographic hash, never in readable form), and your phone number for verification.
Profile: your first name, and a default address if you choose to save one.
Location: if you allow it, your device location, used to show how far a container is. You can refuse, and the app still works — you just do not get distances.
Photos: pictures you take of a load or of a container.
Deals: the containers you list, the requests you make, volumes, prices, addresses and times.
Payment: card details go directly to our payment processor. DumpShare receives confirmation that a payment succeeded and the last digits of the card — never the full number.
Support: the messages you send us, and the account they came from.
Why we collect it
To run your account and verify it is you. To match a load with a container that fits it. To estimate volume from a photo. To take payment and handle refunds. To notify you when the other side responds. To answer support requests, and to investigate abuse or a breach of the terms.
We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it.
Photos and automated measurement
When you photograph a load or a bin, that photo is sent to a third-party AI service that estimates its volume. The provider processes the image to return an estimate and is not permitted to use it to train models or for any purpose of their own.
Photos are also shown to the other party in the deal — that is the point of them. A host sees the load they are being asked to accept; a discarder sees the bin they are heading to.
What the other party sees
When a deal is made, the other person sees your first name, the photos for that deal, the volume and waste type, and the address and hours of the container. They do not see your email, your phone number, your payment details, or any other deal you have made.
Who else we share with
Our hosting and database provider, which stores the data on our behalf on servers in the United States.
Our payment processor, to take payment.
The AI provider described above, for measurement only.
Law enforcement or a regulator, where the law requires it, and anyone we must share with to protect someone's safety or to defend a legal claim.
That is the whole list. No advertisers, no data brokers.
How long we keep it
Account and deal records are kept while your account is open and for as long afterwards as we need them for tax, accounting and legal purposes.
Photos attached to a deal are kept with that deal. Support conversations are kept so we have the history if you write again.
Ask us to delete your account and we will remove your personal data, keeping only what the law requires us to retain.
Your choices
You can see and change your profile in Settings, and turn location and notification permissions on or off in your device settings at any time.
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account — write to us through the Support tab and we will action it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed. Access to the database is restricted per user by the database itself, so one account cannot read another's deals.
No system is perfect. If a breach affects you, we will tell you.
Children
DumpShare is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has an account, tell us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
